Fuel Management - Fleet Fuel
A Mid-Atlantic trucking company with twenty four highly paid drivers was sending drivers to retail fuel stations for gas and high diesel fuel prices. Drivers fleet fuel daily on the trips to the retail fuel location were driving up the company's overtime pay expenses.
Sokolis Group moved the company from its retail fuel procedure to a fleet fuel management solution. We determined after talking to the fleet manager that mobile fueling would be a perfect fleet management solution. This would decrease drivers' expenses and lower the diesel fuel prices by decreasing the fleet fueling margin that they were paying and reduce out of route miles for their fleet company's routes.
The fleet fuel management solution of mobile fueling delivered by Sokolis Group reduced overtime, resulting in a reduction in the fleet's weekly driver payroll. Later it was discovered that the fleet company's winter fueling program had been having trouble before mobile fueling. The retail location was not adding any diesel fuel additives into their tanks. This was costing repairs for our client and reducing the amount of fuel savings they were achieving. By changing to mobile fueling, they now get diesel fuel additives in their fleet company's trucks all year long, providing additional fuel savings with better fleet fuel.
Fuel Management
A Mid-Atlantic Region Port operation was struggling with the high cost of fuel and paying for fleet fuel daily based on daily delivery slips instead of fuel management systems.
Sokolis Group negotiated more attractive diesel fuel prices and instituted a mobile fueling, fleet fuel purchasing program designed to require fewer deliveries and regular fuel invoicing into fuel management software.
The company moved to more efficient weekly fleet fuel invoicing and saw their mobile fueling and propane costs drop over 10% per gallon. Improving their fuel management system for diesel fuel prices. Additionally, the back office improvements they gained from the fleet management that was put in place with our fuel management solutions, helped them to see more than just fuel savings as part of our offering.
Fuel Management - Fuel Procurement
A national company was being denied diesel fuel cards, mobile fueling, fleet fuel service and fuel manager after filing for bankruptcy and did not have enough fleet fuel on hand to service their customers.
Sokolis Group contacted the company's fleet fuel card, mobile fueling companies, fuel inventory management vendors and set up payment agreements, security deposits and wire transfers for all invoices to ensure the fuel management solution would provide vendors payment and continue providing to fleet fueling our client. New fleet fueling vendors, mobile fueling, fuel card solutions and terms were secured in instances where we were unable to come to terms with the current fleet fueling vendors.
The fleet fuel client was able to secure the fleet fueling they needed within a day or two and suffered no significant business interruption. Our fuel manager was able to lower diesel fuel prices on a few mobile fueling companies along the way. We also provided a fuel card solution that otherwise might not have been discovered.
Operational Process Fuel Optimization
A large fleet fueling company recognized their fuel and diesel fuel additives purchasing program, which relied on daily "price shopping" and routinely routing drivers to different suppliers, was inefficient and likely increasing driver hours and fleet fuel costs in the long run.
Sokolis Group identified the closest qualified fleet fueling vendors to the trucking fleet companies terminal, contacted fleet fuel vendors and negotiated low-margin diesel fuel pricing contracts on behalf of the client.
Driver and fleet fueling costs were reduced as a result of the close proximity of the contract fueling vendors, providing the company fuel savings higher than expected.
Fuel Management - Fuel Analysis & Fuel Audit
A national environmental service company had been purchasing fleet fuel from a national fleet fueling - mobile fueling provider. They liked the convenience of the fleet fueling service but thought their diesel fuel prices were too high and didn't believe they were seeing fuel savings.
Sokolis Group performed an in depth fuel analysis and fuel audit on all of the existing mobile fueling and discovered that a large diesel fuel prices increase had occurred without the fleet fueling - mobile fueling company providing notification.
We were able to work out a deal with the fleet fueling - mobile fueling company to refund and write off over $35,000 of overcharges for the higher diesel fuel prices billed to our fleet fuel client. With our fuel management solutions, our fleet company clients are able to achieve fuel savings from their fuel companies that they otherwise would not.
Fuel Management
The new management of a large trucking fleet company wanted to institute a structured fleet management - fleet fueling program that would be more cost efficient than the current practice of drivers fueling up anywhere on-road based on what their fleet company's drivers thought were lower diesel fuel prices.
An in depth fuel analysis performed by Sokolis Group, revealed a number of fleet fueling network gaps. Some of these gaps were cuased by the fuel cards they were using. Instead of using just one fleet card or fuel card, they had several fleet cards. We reduced their fleet company's operation to one fuel card.
Sokolis Group moved quickly to develop a fleet management strategy that would take driver routes and terminal locations into account. Along with the new fuel card that they were now using.
We created a new fleet fueling network of fuel locations and negotiated with many national vendors including truck stops, card-locks, fleet fuel companies and fleet fuel card companies to provide our client with a network of lower diesel fuel prices at certain fueling locations.
As a result of the fuel strategies developed by Sokolis Group, the company had fuel savings of over $1.5 million in just two years. This fleet management solution provided the new management team and fleet manager a solid platform to rollout additional fleet management ideas.
Fleet Fuel Consulting - Diesel Fuel Prices
A large regional fuel supply company was expanding its operations in fleet fueling - mobile fueling.
The Sokolis Group put improved fleet fueling - mobile fueling sales processes in place and helped lay out a strategy for the company to grow but not to hurt customer service.
Within one year the company's fleet fueling - mobile fueling volume tripled and its bottom line quadrupled. With these improvements the fuel company's operational team were able to provide additional fuel savings to their clients.

A national fuel inventory management company and regional company did a joint venture to expand its fleet fueling product offering.
They brought the Sokolis Group in as its outside fleet fuel sales force in order to grow its market position.

Fuel Management - Fleet Fuel Card Solution
One of the country's largest building material companies did not have any fuel procurement or fuel management system plan in place.
The Sokolis Group helped put a six month detailed fuel management study and fleet fuel analysis together on how the company and its 200 plus locations could get things under control. The company lacked any fueling controls. They had some locations with mobile fueling, other locations using fuel cards, others using fleet cards and fleet credit cards. We centralized all of this information.
By negotiating with many different fuel card, fleet card, mobile fueling and fuel companies about our fleet company's fueling program, we were able to narrow the scope to the fleet fuel card provider, fleet fueling - mobile fueling companies, fueling companies and diesel fuel additives supplier. The company had fuel savings of $650,000 in the first year of its new fuel management program. When the fuel card program expanded and fuel cards were totally consolidated, the company was able to realize fuel savings of $850,000 in the second year. This did not include the fuel management system that Sokolis Group helped them install. That provided them with additional fuel savings in back office staffing, fuel inventory management and fuel card controls.

One of the nations most well respected food distribution companies was using a national fleet fuel card.
During our fuel analysis and fuel audit review, we discovered that they were paying full retail diesel fuel prices at truck stops.
We renogatiated with several different fuel card, fleet credit card, fleet card suppliers on new rates and fueling services. As a group with our client we went with fleet fuel card and put in fleet fuel discount programs at truck stops providing fuel savings to the company of $85,000 a year. It also provided the fleet fuel client additional fuel management controls with fleet management ideas to further expand on how they would use their new fuel cards to not only provide fuel saving at truck stops but also mobile fueling and other fleet companies services.

A large private fleet was having trouble dealing with several fleet management issues regarding its fleet fueling. Diesel fuel prices, fuel card, diesel fuel additives, fleet cards and its fuel management system were all limiting the company’s fuel savings and causing headaches for the fleet managers. We provided a fuel analysis on all aspects of their fuel management and discovered that current practices were leaving fuel savings on the table.
Their diesel fuel prices were high because they lacked time and fueling knowledge to monitor properly. We helped provide new fuel suppliers for their fleet fueling purchases, negotiated new diesel fuel prices with fuel companies, while at the same time provided information to flow through its fleet management. A consolidation of the fuel card program was needed because they were using so many different fleet cards, fuel cards and fleet credit cards. We brought in one fuel card provider that was able to handle all of the fuel credit card needs. With the new fuel cards in place, we were also able to have them take advantage of rebates on diesel fuel prices. The company had always paid extra for diesel fuel additives and fuel inventory management from their fuel companies. The way we decided to approach their fuel management going forward was to purchase the diesel fuel additives directly from the manufacturer. This provided fuel savings of several cents per gallon, while the fuel inventory management was picked up as part of the fueling company's fleet management services.
We proposed to the fleet managers that they needed a fuel management system for their mobile fueling that was occurring at the corporate headquarters. We were able to find a fuel card to help its fuel management needs with the mobile fueling. This consolidated more fleet fueling information that is now reviewed daily by our staff, the fuel manager and others that need information from the fleet management system. The new fuel management solutions have lead to yearly savings of over $400,000 and improved fueling information.
Reduce Diesel Fuel Prices - New Fuel Management Program
A Fortune 20 client of ours wanted to reduce their diesel fuel prices. They had been fleet fueling at a large national truck leasing company. They were being charged competitive diesel fuel prices from the leasing company but thought they could reduce the fleet companies mile by going to fuel companies that were in route and get fuel savings. The company’s Directors and fleet managers wanted Sokolis Group to find them a fuel card or fleet card that would allow them to lower their diesel fuel prices. Through an extensive fuel analysis and proof of concept with the fuel card provider and fleet fueling network that we established for them, they decided to move forward.
The new fuel cards were rolled out on a very systematic basis so every fleet manager was given full attention to the new fuel management system. The fleet managers would get fuel cards provided to them for each fleet companies vehicle with special fueling controls that the fuel card provided. We would ensure everyone new where the fleet cards would be accepted and the locations where they would get diesel fuel prices at a discount or fuel rebate. This fleet management solution has been able to provide one of the countries largest companies with more fuel management, fuel savings and fuel analysis then they had ever had before.
The fleet management with the fuel card, fuel management system, and fuel companies discount network has the company to save over $300,000 a year in just fuel savings. Additional the fleet companies out of routes miles, increased level of fueling per stop and fuel management data has been able to provide additional fuel savings that otherwise would not have been achieved.
Fuel Savings Achieved - Fleet Management
One of the countries largest linen providers was having issues with high diesel fuel prices and increased labor costs. The company reached out to us for help with its fuel management and the best fueling solutions to achieve optimal fuel savings.
Our staff of fleet management consultants did a total review of the fleet companies current fuel management systems. Our fleet fuel consultants looked over the fleet cards, mobile fueling, diesel fuel prices, diesel fuel additives, and fleet management services from its leasing companies and determined with managements support for a fuel savings plan, we could execute a fuel management plan with a high value of fuel savings.
The fleet companies program had many fuel companies providing them with mobile fueling. This was helping the client with its labor costs but the mobile fueling companies after additional fuel analysis provided to us by the fleet managers, we were able to determine that the actual diesel fuel prices for the mobile fueling services were higher than they should be for a fleet of their size.
We negotiated new diesel fuel prices with the mobile fueling companies that provided win/wins for all fleet companies involved. The client wanted a new fleet card or fuel card to help type fuel savings in with its mobile fueling programs, fleet fueling and provide additional fleet management solutions with improved fueling data.
A new fuel card program was put in place, allowing fleet managers to be able to see all fuel card transaction in real time. This information was helped push to the client by our fuel consulting staff and the fleet credit card services by the fuel card provider.
Over the next several months the Sokolis Group was able to improve the fuel management systems that the client had in place by providing additional information on diesel fuel prices, fuel savings and how effective the mobile fueling program was doing compared to the labor savings the fleet companies group was achieving.
This client has told us that their staff of fleet managers has been able to put their efforts toward other topics that were more important and that they had more experience in now that they could count on our group to handle all of their fuel management needs and identify any additional fuel savings that can be achieved.
